Please verify with your appropriate government agency that you will meet all entrance requirements into Singapore. It is very important to ensure your passport is valid for six months after your travel date. More information for those traveling from the USA. For more information from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore.
If you have never traveled to Singapore, play it safe and contact your local government agency to ensure a smooth trip.
While the far majority of travelers will not need a pre-arranged VISA upon arrival at Singapore, please contact your local government to ensure you will be allowed to leave your country. Be aware that, if required, it may take up to 3 months to get a VISA, so please plan accordingly. Singapore maintains a list of countries which require VISAs for entrance:
We have partnered with the Singapore Travel Board to help grant people visas to Singapore. In order to use the following documents to obtain a visa, you must be sending your documents to the Consulate directly. These documents will NOT work for the SAVE program. Please download, fill out, and send to firstname.lastname@example.org the following Casual Connect Invitation Letter to sign and return to you via email.

Travel from/to Singapore Airport
Taking a taxi to and from the airport is relatively easy. Taxis are located on the Arrival level of each Terminal and any hotel in the area can call you a taxi to the airport. The ride is about 30 minutes, but depends on traffic. If you take a taxi, it is about S$20 – 40 so make sure to have enough cash in Singapore Dollars before getting into the taxi. If you are traveling in a group of 4 – 7 people or with significant luggage, please approach the Ground Transport Desk in the Arrival Hall to arrange for a flat fee larger taxi or Limousine which cost approximately S$50 (50 Singapore Dollars).
The easiest way to get to and from the airport is by the clean, prompt and very safe public train. After retrieving your baggage, follow the signs to the MRT train. http://www.smrt.com.sg
Local Currency: You will need local currency to ride the train. There is a CitiBank ATM to the left of baggage claim directly before taking the two story escalators down to the MRT.
Navigation: You can find a map at the Tourist Center or print from the MRT website before leaving. http://www.smrt.com.sg/trains/routemap/MRT_SysMp_with_all_CCL-Sept11.pdf
Tickets: You will need change to purchase tickets, so head to the ticket booth and get change for about S$10 (10 Singapore Dollars) so you will have plenty for your return trip and the deposit on the fare card. Plan for each trip on the train to be just under S$2.
VERY VERY IMPORTANT: When taking the Green, East West Line from Changi Airport (CG2) into the city, you MUST transfer to the west bound train at the Tanah Merah Station (EW4) as there is a fork in the line.
From Changi Airport, head South on T2 Basement Drive then slight left at T2 Boulevard. Proceed with another slight left at Airport Boulevard. Take Exit 1 - PIE (Tuas) / TPE (SLE), onto Pan Island Expressway. Take Exit 15A - CTE (City), onto CTE (City). Continue on Central Expressway and then take Exit 6 - Bukit Timah Road, turn right to stay on Bukit Timah Road. Turn left at Scotts Road then right at Stevens Road. Make a U-turn at Anderson Road. Slight left at Orange Grove Road. Arrive at the Shangri-La Hotel carpark.
Changi International Airport (SIN) is 20 km from the hotel/venue: a 20-30 minute journey by taxi. Payment methods : Cash, American Express, Diners, JCB, MasterCard, VISA
The food in Singapore is consistently good. If you are planning a large partner dinner, please contact us for recommendations before booking.
